Dill is one of the most popular herbs in the world and lends itself to many different dishes with its sweet, fresh flavour.
Dill is also very easy to grow from seed.
This strain is hardy and has a wonderful sweet dill aroma. It has always been in our gardens – we have never planted it! It self-sows year after year. That’s how easy it is to grow dill from seed.
A bit more:
Dill is a herb that is rich in bioactive compounds. In the 2025 paper, “Metabolomic analysis of bioactive compounds in dill (Anethum graveolens L.) extracts“, the authors write:
“Dill (Anethum graveolens L.) is a functional herb known for its dietary, medicinal, and health-promoting agents, as it enriches antioxidants that help to protect cells from oxidative stress and may reduce the risk of several chronic diseases. The daily consumption of active components from dill, is achieved through methods such as tea preparation and incorporation into soups and salads.”
We benefit from dill’s bioactive compounds when we use this herb on a regular basis.
