This is a beautiful purple podded snow pea. Royal Snow peas were developed by the famous breeder of Sugar Snap peas – Dr. Calvin Lamborn. Plants are only about 2 feet high and work well in a container.
Royal Snow peas are great for fresh eating — although, they are not as sweet as green snow peas. The tradeoff is that their purple colour indicates the presence of the important antioxidant anthocyanin.

How to Plant: Peas are very easy to grow from seed. Plant peas as early as you can in spring; which is generally early May in our Zone 4 gardens. Peas like cool weather and do not grow well when it warms up. Peas love a crowd! Plant peas about 1-2 inches apart and do not thin.
