This is a beautiful purple podded snow pea. Royal Snow peas were developed by the famous breeder of Sugar Snap peas – Dr. Calvin Lamborn. Plants are only about 2 feet high and work well in a container.
Royal Snow peas are great for fresh eating — although, they are not as sweet as green snow peas. The tradeoff is that their purple colour indicates the presence of the important antioxidant anthocyanin.

How to Grow Peas? Peas are very easy to grow from seed. Plant peas as early as you can in spring; which is generally early May in our Zone 4 gardens. Peas like cool weather and do not grow well when it warms up. Peas love a crowd! Plant peas about 1-2 inches apart and do not thin.
