A lovely purple, mauve, yellow tomatillo. From the mountain town of Coban, Guatemala. Smaller than other tomatillos they resemble Cape Gooseberries but aren’t as sweet as Cape Gooseberries (wait for fruits to fall in their papery husks). Great for salsas. Grow as you would tomatoes.
*Grow at least 2 tomatillo plants to ensure pollination.
How to Plant: Similar to tomatoes start indoors 8 weeks before the date of last frost. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep in individual pots. A heat mat will help germination. Transplant outside when nighttime temperatures are consistently 10C or warmer. Purple Coban Tomatillo does great in a 5 gallon pot or in the garden.
