We are so excited to have Arctic Pot N’ Patio in our seed catalogue. Arctic Pot N’Patio was originally part of the ‘Northern Exposure Extreme Seed’ collection created by Marketland Gardens in Bowden, Alberta (circa 1990s).
Here is a description of Arctic Pot N’Patio from the Bow Seeds catalogue (2011): “Arctic Pot N’Patio is a short determinate type for growing in pots, hanging baskets or in the garden. A massive producer of hundreds of finger lickin’ good 2-3 cm (1”) deliciously sweet red fruits.”
This is a rare one! We gave Arctic Pot N’ Patio a prime spot in one of our little greenhouses (last photo).
Arctic Pot N’ Patio was indeed early! And very productive. It is mildly sweet, but we may have been overwatering/coddling it😊
It also has interesting leaves – small, light green leaves, and not very many of them. Rather, the plant was loaded with flowers (see image) and then tomatoes.
We are excited to bring this variety back to the seed trade.
How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Transplant after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
