Bush Beefsteak is a classic tomato.
It is the kind of tomato you grew up eating as a kid at backyard barbeques. Or in real Greek Salads. Bush Beefsteak is a lovely, juicy, great-tasting tomato. We resisted growing it for a long time, well, because it seemed to be so common. But this is truly a great tomato that is popular for a reason.
Bush Beefsteak is a Canadian bred tomato that is well suited for short growing areas. It was developed in Manitoba at the Morden Research and Development Centre in the 1950s. It is a cross of Marglobe x Bounty.
Bush Beefsteak only gets to about 2 feet tall. It produces medium size round/beefsteak tomatoes that can be used anywhere tomatoes are needed.
If you like Bush Beefsteak, try Harvestvee, a high lycopene/high crimson bush beefsteak tomato that we also love. You can check out Harvestvee HERE.
How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Transplant after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
