The famous Brandywine tomato in a small package.
Cherry Brandywine has the excellent sweet taste of the famous Brandywine tomato, but in a smaller, earlier tomato. The plant starts to produce mid-season and will continue to be productive right up until the first frost. Fruits range in size from large cherry tomatoes to saladettes.
Cherry Brandywine was introduced to the Seed Savers Exchange (USA) in 1998 by member Tim Diermann of Marthasville, Missouri. According to Tatania’s Tomatobase, Tim described Cherry Brandywine as a ‘genetic fluke’ of the Brandywine tomato.
Note: We also offer Rosita Brandywine Cherry tomato, which has smaller cherry tomatoes and is about 2 feet tall. Cherry Brandywine has larger fruits and is 4-5 feet tall.
How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Keep moist. When true leaves appear, transplant to a larger container if needed. Transplant outside after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
