$4.25

Type: Anthocyanin Cherry. Great Sweet Taste. Indeterminate (5 ft)

20 seeds (or more)

Availability: In stock

This is a superb Anthocyanin cherry tomato from a master breeder, Dr Jim Meyers. A striking deep blue when unripe; when ripe, it has dark red bottoms splashed with black/blue shoulders. Indigo Cherry Drops is early, hardy and highly productive.

It has a good balanced taste, sweet with a bit of tang, and makes a great tomato for snacking from the vine or throwing in salads. Indigo Cherry Drops was bred to be an improvement on an earlier Anthocyanin tomato from this collection, Indigo Rose. It was bred at the Oregon State University by one of the pioneers of Anthocyanin tomato breeding, Dr Jim Meyers. The source of the blue colour (Anthocyanin) is from wild tomatoes found in the Galapagos Islands and Chile. The original crosses made at the Oregon State University are the source for over 50 other Anthocyanin tomatoes.

How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Keep moist. When true leaves appear, transplant to a larger container if needed. Transplant outside after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
