An excellent sweet, firm cherry tomato. Mini Kumato is a grape size version of the larger Kumato tomato. It was bred in Europe using traditional breeding methods crossing wild and domestic tomatoes. Kumato tomatoes are famous for having great taste at their different stages of ripening– they taste amazing at the brown-green, dark brown and red-brown stages. And once picked, they have a long shelf-life.
Our friend Adriana trialed this one for us and gave it high marks: “One of my favourites. It has a sweet and tart taste, and is good in salads and on its own.” We agree, it’s one of our favourites as well.
How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Keep moist. When true leaves appear, transplant to a larger container if needed. Transplant outside after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
