We love this little tomato. Orange Pixie only gets to about 2 feet and its dark green, rugose leaves give it a very sturdy look. The golf-ball sized tomatoes have a wonderful, sweet taste. Our seed stock comes from long-time seedsaver Carol Knapp of Wisconsin. She originally grew out Orange Pixie and has been saving her own open-pollinated version for years.
Carol writes:
“This is one of my personal favorites. Its flavor is close to Sun Gold / SunSugar. The plant is dwarf and suitable for growing in a pot. The tomatoes are bigger than a cherry, more of a 2-3 bite tomato.”
How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Transplant after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
