Another wonderful tomato from the Prairie River, Saskatchewan breeder Stanley Zubrowski. Stanley has been breeding tomatoes for over 40 years in his Zone 3 gardens in northeastern Saskatchewan.
Prairie Glow is a great tasting beefsteak tomato with that old fashioned tangy taste you want in a tomato. Its meaty texture is perfect for sandwiches and burgers.
Tomatoes are medium size (90g to 110g). The compact plants (2ft tall) are very productive from mid-season until the first frost. Prairie Glow would do well in a large (5 to 10 gallon) container.
This tasty red tomato is well suited to short growing seasons.
Thank you to Stanley for sharing seeds with us!
How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Transplant after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
