Prairie Glow is another wonderful tomato from the Prairie River, Saskatchewan breeder Stanley Zubrowski. Stanley has been breeding tomatoes for over 40 years in his Zone 3 gardens in northeastern Saskatchewan.
Prairie Glow is a great tasting beefsteak tomato with that old fashioned tangy taste you want in a tomato. Its meaty texture is perfect for sandwiches and burgers.
Tomatoes are medium size (90g to 110g). The compact plants (2ft tall) are very productive from mid-season until the first frost. Prairie Glow would do well in a large (5 to 10 gallon) container.
This tasty red tomato is well suited to short growing seasons.
We’ve been fortunate to get to know Stanley over the years and recently interviewed him about his breeding work. You can read our interview with Stanley HERE
Thank you to Stanley for sharing seeds with us!
We offer 4 of Stanley’s tomato varieties: Stan’s Best Cherry, Prairie Glow, Yellow Fireworks and the Stanley Zubrowski.
