Punta Banda is an early, hardy, productive tomato that was originally found growing wild in Punta Banda, on the Baja peninsula of California — which gives you a sense of its superior genetics. Nobody was coddling this tomato! Which makes it a valuable one to have in your garden — you will have tomatoes.
This is an almost effortless tomato to grow that will reward you with high yields of gold ball sized (28 g/1 oz) red tomatoes. The bushy plants are low maintenance and about 1 ft tall and 2 ft across. The tomatoes have good balanced taste. And many seed savers report Punta Banda makes great pasta sauce. It is also good for fresh eating.
