This is the famous Brandywine tomato in the size of a cherry tomato.
Rosita Brandywine has large satin pink cherry tomatoes on compact (18″ to 2 ft) plants.
The tomatoes are sweet and juicy just like its famous namesake, but the plant is much more manageable in size, earlier, and perfect for containers. And SO productive. Plants are covered with beautiful pink cherry tomatoes from early in the season until the end of the season.
Rosita Brandywine Cherry is the accomplishment of longtime tomato breeder Kanti Rawal and seedsman Steve Peters of California. They founded the seed company ‘Seeds rEvolution Now’ with the goal of creating great tasting, hardy, open-pollinated (and public domain) tomatoes.
Here is how Rosita Brandywine is described by ‘Seeds rEvolution Now’ on their website:
“Another triumph from long-time tomato breeder Kanti Rawal, who crossed an heirloom Brandywine with, among other things, a prolific cherry tomato to achieve this blemish-free, full flavored heirloom-of-the-future. This unassuming little tomato packs a surprising punch of deliciousness! Brandywine Cherry has a huge harvest window of fantastically flavorful little gems. AND it’s the earliest tomato we have ever seen! A very high-yielding determinate plant.”
This tomato hits the mark!
