Type: High-yielding, beefsteak tomato from Saskatchewan breeder Stanley Zubrowski

20 seeds (or more)

Availability: In stock

A fabulous tomato from the Saskatchewan breeder Stanley Zubrowski. Taste-wise, this tomato is a great balance of sweet and tangy. The juicy tomatoes are medium in size (100 g to 145 g) and the 2ft plants are high-yielding.

Who is Stanley Zubrowkski you might be wondering?

Stanley Zubrowski is a master plant breeder from Prairie River, Saskatchewan who has been breeding tomatoes — and a few other plants, such as clematis, petunia, and roses — for over 40 years. In 1997, Stanley was awarded the D.R. Robinson Award from the Saskatchewan Horticultural Association for his plant breeding work, which puts him in the select company of several other important Canadian plant breeders, such as Dr. Bert Porter and Percy Wright.

A few years ago, Stanley’s friend, Allan Daku (another master gardener who worked with the late Dr. Bert Porter at Honeywood Nursery in Parkdale, SK), sent seeds of this then unnamed tomato to the seed savers at Revival Seeds (Nova Scotia). They trialed the tomato, loved it, and named it Stanley Zubrowski in his honour!

Our seeds also came from Stanley – we trialed it and loved it and are now able to offer the Stanley Zubrowski tomato.

We are so happy to offer this wonderful short season Canadian bred tomato variety. Thank you Stanley!

How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Transplant after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
