This wonderful cold-tolerant, early tomato was bred in Alaska by the Alaska Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (Sitka) and originally released in 1970.

Tanana is a dwarf tomato – about 24 inches tall – that produces both medium size beefsteak-type tomatoes and smaller round tomatoes. Flavour is on the mild size, but good for an early tomato. This is an excellent container variety.

The original Tanana has regular leaves, but the one we are offering has ‘carrot’ like leaves. This variety was discovered by J&L Gardens (New Mexico) who named it Tanana (Carrot Top). Our original seedstock came from J&L Gardens.
