This versatile bright yellow tomato tastes like a cross between a roma tomato and a cherry tomato.

Its thick walls and sweet, fruity taste make it perfect for salsa and sauces. But it is also great tossed in a salad as its crunchy texture holds up well. It’s not the fanciest tomato out there, but its massive production, sweet taste and disease resistance make it stand out.

Yellow Plum is also an old heirloom.

The seedsavers at the Victory Seed Company trace Yellow Plum’s history back to at least the 1850s, when it was offered for sale in the seed catalogue of JM Thorburn & Co. Its longevity in the seed trade speaks to its well-rounded qualities.

Our original seedstock came from the Seed Savers Exchange.

Plant Characteristics: A super productive tomato that reaches to almost 6 feet, you will have hundreds of tomatoes from early summer right up until the first frost. Fruits are about 25g/1oz in size. The seedlings for Yellow Plum are so vigorous and healthy looking, which means you know you will have a great plant on your hands. This is a very reliable tomato.

How to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 5mm (¼ inch) deep. Keep moist. When true leaves appear, transplant to a larger container if needed. Transplant outside after the danger of frost has passed/later spring.
